Light Grey Glazed Ceramic

A vitrified clay body sealed beneath a fused vitreous glaze, this ceramic marries the timeless craft of fired earthenware, an art practised in China for over two millennia, with the exacting tolerances of modern porcelain stoneware. High-temperature kiln firing yields a dense, near-impervious surface boasting compressive strengths approaching 400 MPa, delivering exceptional hardness, abrasion resistance and frost durability. Like all ceramics it is unforgiving in tension and inherently brittle, rewarding the architect with enduring stain- and chemical-resistant finishes where rigidity, not flexibility, is prized. This light grey glaze offers a calm, versatile neutral with a soft, even lustre.
